Things Nobody Tells You About Following Your Heart
Life lately has felt like riding a wave—one moment I’m on top of the world, and the next, I’m tumbling into the depths. This past year has been all kinds of everything.
I decided to bet on myself, to follow my heart, and start creating something meaningful: a personal brand and a community where people feel seen, heard, and supported. But as life tends to do, it threw me a massive curveball.
The Unexpected Role I Never Asked For
Out of nowhere, I found myself stepping into the role of an unemployed cancer caregiver. It’s not a title I ever imagined having, and it’s a challenge that has shaped me in ways I’m still processing.
But here’s the thing: I wasn’t going to let this chapter derail my dreams. Even in the midst of uncertainty, I decided to forge ahead.
The Highs and Lows of Betting on Yourself
Some days, it felt like everything was falling into place. I could see the difference I was making, and it felt amazing. Other days? Not so much. Doubt crept in. I wondered if I’d made the right decision, if I was truly capable of balancing it all.
Looking back, I probably could have spent more time researching logistics before diving into creating a business. But that’s not who I am. I’m a “lead with your heart, not your head” kind of person. And honestly? Nobody really talks about how messy following your heart can be.
What They Don’t Tell You About Following Your Heart
It’s not all sunshine and breakthroughs.
Following your heart is messy. It’s exhilarating and exhausting. It’s navigating uncertainty and juggling self-doubt while life continues to throw its curveballs.
But it’s also deeply fulfilling. It’s a reminder that you’re showing up for yourself, even when it’s hard. Even when it feels impossible.
I’ve learned that the highs and lows are part of the process. It’s not about having everything figured out—it’s about progress, resilience, and trusting that the next step, no matter how small, will take you somewhere meaningful.
If You’re Feeling Lost, You’re Not Alone
If you’ve ever felt like you’re riding these same waves—one moment sure of your path and the next wondering if you’re completely off course—know this: you’re not alone.
Following your heart isn’t easy, but it’s always worth it. The messy middle is where the magic happens, even if you can’t see it yet.
